Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her articles from Charleston, about how the Charleston police handled DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was awarded her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor, investigative report as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell, as well as being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She co-hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
